Mabuhay Cement aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions from its operations and cement manufacturing facilities by 2030 through the implementation of reforestation and carbon sink programs. We integrate the emission-reduction approach in many facets of our operations by cutting out wastage in purchased electricity and fossil fuel consumption. Mabuhay Cement will continue to identify greenhouse gas emission-reduction opportunities and set measurable plans and targets to achieve net-zero GHG emissions.

Mabuhay Cement is steadfast on improving our efficiency by getting the most out of our resources. Conservation efforts on energy, water and material resources have been systematically practiced in certain areas and aspects of our operations by applying the 3Rs initiative (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). Mabuhay Cement utilizes a water recycling system where water being used for the cooling process is returned back into the system. This significantly reduces ground water extraction in our operations.

MABUHAY CEMENT is also very creative in reusing and turning its waste material for other purposes such as the repurposing of used filter bags into seedling bags, dust curtains. We have achieved significant reduction of solid waste by composting of biodegradable materials and recycling.

Our Environmental Management Plan is designed to ensure that our Mabuhay Cement Processing Plant is operated with minimum environmental negative impact on Land, Air, Water and People. We safeguard the environment where we operate in by primarily focusing on proper management of solid waste, air quality, wastewater, hazardous waste and ground water resource.

Mabuhay Cement spearheads programs and activities for the collective good of the people and communities where
we work. Our activities produce direct and indirect benefits to communities wherever we do business particularly in
the development of a globally competitive local workforce and local supply chain.
